#1 Mom Trophy

Posted on May 1st, 2009 by JJuan in Shopping

Mother’s Day is approaching and fast!

Hurry up and get your mother something that she deserves. Making her a breakfast and doing the chores for her would be a nice thing. Though I advise you not to do the chores for your mom and just do the breakfast instead since a mom’s work isn’t really a walk in the park. Believe me, I learned it the hard way.

Instead, give her a wonderful trophy! Seriously! This trophy clearly states in the front “#1 Mom” signifying how great your mother is. This gold colored statuette is about 7″ tall that has lady in gown holding a bouquet of flowers and with sash. That could have sounded like a person on a beauty pageant isn’t it?

Anyway, this trophy would really fit anyone that you consider a mom. Be it your real mother or someone you consider your mother, this would really fit. Not really an Oscars though but she would certainly feel a winner

Original Sega Dreamcast

Posted on April 30th, 2009 by JJuan in Gadgets

Relieving your old school days  through playing downloaded roms all over the internet and using emulators on your PC can really bring back memories. Though, it would be a little different now since you now play with a keyboard and sometimes even with a mouse.

Then make the memories more vivid with a real and brand new in box Sega Dreamcast from thinkgeek! It comes with the console, a controller, power and AV cables, built in modem, web browser 2.0 disc, game demo disc and an instruction manual. Though finding brand new games would be quite hard, tons of pre-owned games are definitely available through ebay or other online sources or maybe that little thrift store that you used to ignore might actually be the treasure cove you might want to visit.

Aside from the memories, don’t forget that what you will have is already a part of video gaming history. Remember that before the PS2, the Dreamcast was called a console that is ahead of its time because of its advanced 3D gaming capabilities and built in online gaming. Too bad though that Sony, having such a good name in game consoles because of the successful PS1, was just too powerful with their PS2 that turned the Dreamcast belly up.

Dynamo Powered Shaver

Posted on April 29th, 2009 by JJuan in Gadgets

Be off the grid with this dynamo powered shaver!

Powered by rotating the crank, this shaver can make you free from those stubble that you have grown through the days. Winding the crank for one minute would be very much sufficient for a shave unless you shave for such a long time that you need to crank wind again but I guess a minute wouldn’t be that much of a hassle isn’t it?

Whenever you feel the need to shave and then it just so happens that there isn’t electricity or out of batteries for your cordless shaver, then crank this baby up and shave! Of course you wouldn’t want to look like a contestant from Survivor with all of those overgrown beard and mustache. This would also be perfect for the outdoors in case you will be out for days and would care on how you look.

Just in case you’re in the car, a 12 volt car charger is included to charge the battery. At home, a 110 volt can be used for this shaver also included in the box. Basically, this shaver is an all in one - a cordless shaver and a can be recharged on the go.

Want to have a cup of hot water for you coffee but cannot wait for more than 2 minutes? Well you don’t actually have to wait if you have Jetboil! As the name implies, it can boil your water as fast as a jet. In just 2 minutes, it can make 2 cups of coffee boiling for you and your partner. Intended for water, this cooking system can also be used for cooking pasta and noodles quickly, hiking meals, soups, and coffee with the use of the coffee press accessory.

The Jetboil container can hold up to a liter and is coated with anodized aluminum for maximum durability. The base is made to last hot temperature so you wouldn’t worry burning it out. There is also a lid that would double up as a measuring cup whenever needed and with the built-in piezoelectric igniter wouldn’t need matches or lighters anymore.

You might have thought that boiling up water at such a short time would use up a lot of propane. But this cooking system is highly efficient to a 75-80% level, it would take a small propane canister to boil 50 cups or 12 liters of water.

Aside from its durability, this little cooking system is just 4.1″x7.1″ making it light and compact to fit a hiker’s bag. This combination of portability and ruggedness for the outdoors makes this perfect for outdoor use.

Automatic Soap Dispenser

It has been always said again and again that frequent hand washing is the best way to prevent illnesses and diseases in the household. What better way to motivate people specially children to wash their hands than a musical chime. This way, children get “rewarded” with a music every time they wash their hands to let the time pass and let parents know that their children are washing their hands without even seeing them.

This soap dispenser is powered by 4 AAA batteries. An infrared sensor is located to the body of the soap dispenser detecting whether a hand comes close to the dispenser then gives out approximately 1ml of soap pero dispense. This means that the full capacity of 400ml will equate to about 400 hand washes. The no-drip nozzle ensures that there wouldn’t be any spills or mess in your counter top which is very common with traditional soap dispensers.

This innovative usage of the soap dispenser makes the operation full touch free! Just make the sensor go off and then let the soap pour then wash away. It is that easy and hassle free you wouldn’t mind washing your hands over and over again - great for preventing germs spreading through hand contact.

This device is a must for every modern home living that incorporates style, technology, and functionality in one device.

HTC Magic

Posted on April 27th, 2009 by JJuan in Cellphones

The HTC Dream or the T-Mobile G1 might have run a good run as the first Android phone in the market. Though it received mixed reviews, it was generally an awesome device since users are freely able to make apps for the device or have it available from the Android Market.

The G2 offers most of the functionality of the G1 but with better design, without the keyboard, and improved functionality. HTC positions the Magic for the younger market since they emphasize the device to be bold, and hot. They highlight five of the HTC Magic’s assets.

1. Android Powered - this means that the device will be able to run open source software that could mean lots of application available for users in the future. Also, the operating system itself is intuitive and the interface is very good for touchscreen use.

2. Intuitive Navigation - the Magic uses a trackball like the one on the Dream that enables fast user scrolling. Also, all of the needed buttons are on the lower portion of the device making them accessible.

3. Capture Images and Flicks - the built in 3.2 megapixel auto-focus camera takes great shots than other more popular phones. The down side here though is the lack of flash that would prevent taking pictures and flicks during low light conditions.

4. Bold Design - the body of the Magic is really something to be praised. The curved design really is good to the hand and looks modern.

5. Google Experience Phone - this means that Google applications are built in such as mail, maps, calendar etc are included and with the 3.5g connectivity, these online dependent apps would be like it was on the phone itself.

To be released on Vodaphone in the European market, this is something to hold on until released in the US. For the meantime, let’s just stick with the G1.
