It has long been said that imitation is the best form of flattery. Since the iPod, Apple devices especially iPod and iPhone have been the most copied in the copied devices market. Most are just really bad copies, such as copying the exterior (badly) and even kill it further by putting a interface that is barely functional. There are also mediocre copies which has the exterior perfected but the system is not that much great. There is one exception to the rule and that is the Meizu’s M8.

The Meizu M8 has been highly anticipated since the Iphone was announced. The long wait is now over since it has been announced to be sold globally and the wait really paid off. Meizu carefully constructed the M8 making it a true contender to the Iphone and not a copycat.

Multimedia functions can be a deciding point in choosing a phone nowadays, but the M8 seem to have nailed it correctly. The M8 has a dedicated audio chip that can produce rich sound experience. Its 624Mhz processor is also very much adequate for high definition playback on the phone. Paired with its 3.4″ 720×480 screen, watching videos is such a pleasure. Keep in mind that before M8 was produced, Meizu is already a portable media player manufacturer so that explains their dedication for multimedia.

Mobile internet is also a factor since a lot of people want a desktop like experience of web browsing on their phone. the M8 promises to deliver a desktop like experience thanks to it web browser. Along with this is email and instant messaging that has been a stable in people’s internet life.

Other features such as the camera wouldn’t disappoint as well since it is actually a 3.2mega pixel snapper that has auto focus too! WiFi, Bluetooth, proximity sensor and an accelerometer is also present in the device.

Another great thing in this phone is its accessibility to developers. The SDK is open for third party developers that could mean a lot of software options for the device in the future. That’s surely a plus!

The Meizu M8 comes in two capacities, 8GB and a 16GB though only the 8GB version is being rolled out in the market which will cost you about $350.

With these the Meizu M8 could very well be China’s best iPhone contender.
