O-oh. It seems that famous learning gadget maker for kids, LeapFrog, wants adult’s devices be invaded too with this new application downloadable through Apple’s App Store. This new application is, as the name implies, let your kids learn his/her numbers through intuitive touch based interface.

Addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division are the four fundamentals of Mathematics that this app covers. It has three modes - Learn It, Quiz Time, and Random Quiz. On Learn It mode, the number wheels are to be spinned and then press equals to show the answer. Quiz Time will test your kid’s ability to answer addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division problems. Select the operation to be quizzed and then shake the device to answer. Random Quiz is the hardest mode which basically makes different questions from four operations. Each correct answer will reward your kid with fun rhymes and cool animation that would make your kid smile with fun.

What a great idea from LeapFrog to incorporate modern “adult” devices for their child learning business model. However, it would mean that your kid will be more persistent on asking to borrow your well taken care of beloved iPhone. The worst part is that when you see it scratched or worse, broken, due to mishandling which is really unavoidable with all of those shake to spin action going on. So if ever you plan to make this app a long term math training app for your kid, definitely get an extended Apple warranty.
