Learn MoreObsessive-compulsive disorder is a mental disorder of some sort that makes a person have compulsive behavior on things such as cleanliness like wiping off things with alcohol to disinfect them every now and then to be free from germs and bacteria that might be living. However, a study showed that a regular office keyboard could contain about 5 times more bacteria than a toilet seat! Wow that’s filthy dirty.
The Medigenic Infection Control Keyboard is a hospital grade keyboard that aims to control infection spread through clean computing input habits. First off, the keyboard itself is purely flat enabling easy wiping of the face to kill all of those dirty creatures living there. Imagine wiping on a regular keyboard would be such a pain since it has a lot of nooks and crannies that are just impossible to reach and would take up time to clean. With a flat surface, it would just be easy as doing your alpabets. To keep you reminded to clean the keyboard every now and then, a sound and light alert will be triggered by user specific time intervals.
Typing on a flat keyboard needs a bit adjustment really since all are used with a raised keyboard. But according to Advanced Input Systems, the maker of this keyboard, touch typists wouldn’t have a problem since it is designed to have a raised keyboard look and with haptic feedback to emulate regular keyboard typing. And with keyboard backlight, typing doesn’t mean turning on the lights.
This infection control keyboard is definitely great for hospitals where cleanliness is a must but for $140, better buy some gaming keyboard that do some fraggin’
