Samsung N120

Netbooks today seem to get all too familiar. Like when you see a newly released netbook here you just say “well it’s just another one” and they become dull. That’s why you see manufacturers do their best to make their netbooks extra special like design wise like what HP did on the Vivienne Tam edition to get the attention of the fashionistas, Sony’s Vaio P marketing their netbook as one which you could put in a pocket (even though we all know you really can’t), and MSI’s X340 which is really slim and seem to look a little bit too similar with the MacBook Air. But how about performance? Not just regular increased productivity like faster processor or bigger hard drive, but like multimedia features? Well of course aside from the obvious that faster processors mean better video rendering and enabling them to play HD videos but sounds is also important.

The Samsung N120 offers a 2.1 surround sound speaker which they impressively able to fit in such a small device. Aside from this, a dedicated subwoofer is also included making the audio system of the N120 a 2.1ch. Aside from the richer sound experience that can be obtained from this netbook, people from Samsung also said that the keyboard and the touchpad is now same as that of a 12.1 notebook which made me really think since this netbook has just 10.1″ LED screen size. So maybe it meant that they just have to make wider frame around the screen which could be a little unsighty for some. Speaking of the screen, this LED lit display will surely show vibrant colors and coupled with the 6-cell battery, Samsung said that users can squeeze 10.5 hours of battery life! Imagine, you could let the device on the whole day without worrying of getting low on battery.

Here are the usuals of this netbook: 1.3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, WiFi, and memory card slots. This netbook is aiming for people who are keen on sound or who casually play songs on their netbook while on the go since they mostly have their whole library of songs installed on their netbook aside from having them on the main computer. Well if you’re in the market for some audio boasting netbook, the Samsung N120 will give you an extra oomph!
